Norwegian belongs to the North Germanic branch and has two official written standards, Bokmål and Nynorsk, plus many strongly regional spoken dialects. Public bodies publish in both, so Norwegian web pages often switch between them. Common sites include national and local news, kommune services, fjord and mountain tourism, trekking cabins, fishing and aquaculture firms, and folk high schools.
